Streaming multimedia is multimedia that is constantly received by, and normally displayed to, the end-user while it is being delivered by the provider. The name refers to the delivery method of the medium rather than to the medium itself. The distinction is usually applied to media that are distributed over telecommunications networks, as most other delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television) or inherently non-streaming (e.g. books, video cassettes, audio CDs). The verb 'to stream' is also derived from this term, meaning to deliver media in this manner.
In order to answer this question effectively for our own target audience, we have embedded a couple of excellent editorial web videos. It truly is very exciting to learn about how this multimedia platform is changing the way society is providing and accessing information.
The History of YouTube:

Of course the number one use of the web video is entertainment; however large corporations and small businesses alike are identifying the powerful potential that this medium has for generating revenue. For decades the Yellow Pages was the most powerful advertising medium on the planet. The majority of local area businesses could not survive without it. The main common factors between the Yellow Pages and internet advertising is that they are both user friendly and offer a passive method where consumers have control over locating goods and services for themselves.
Methods of aggressive advertising such as Direct Mail, Telemarketing and Spam have become the scourge of society by wasting time and resources for both consumers and businesses. The web video is by far the smartest way to connect with any consumer target audience for any type of business. The web video combines the visual and creative characteristics of a TV commercial while the consumer controls the advertising content they review as if they were locating products and services in a phone directory.
